There’ll be hot cars, food and fun for the kids at the Hailey Hot Wheels Car show today at Hailey’s Roberta McKercher Park.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today—Saturday, Aug. 21--and it will feature live music by Sawtooth Creek, a relatively new group made up of veteran musicians. Among them: Taul Paul, Jay Noyes, Jerry Drake, Walt Denekas and Mark Eisinger.
The group plays everything form the fiddle to mandolin and guitar as they play favorite covers from the 1960s.
Herbert Romero, who organizes the car show every year, said he went to car shows in Jerome and Twin Falls, including Joe Mama’s Car Show, last week, in hopes of luring hot car owners to the Wood River Valley show.
The cruising will start at Hailey City Hall at 9 a.m. with cars making their way to the park.
Wood River Valley residents will also have an opportunity to get a free COVID vaccine at the event, courtesy of St. Luke’s Vaccine Mobile Unit. Health officials will be administering doses from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Parents must provide consent for those ages 12 through 17, either in person or by sending a written consent form with the child. Those with limited mobility can call 208-513-3413 and be vaccinated in their vehicle.
