St. Luke’s Center for Community Health recently published a new GetHelp! guide.
The guide is available in and around the Wood River Valley. It also can be downloaded in English at https://www.stlukesonline.org/~/media/stlukes/documents/get-help-2021-07-01.pdf
Download a Spanish version at https://www.stlukesonline.org/~/media/stlukes/documents/get-help-obtenga-ayuda-2021.pdf
The guide outlines resources for emotional and mental health support, as well as suicide prevention.
It provides facts about mental illness, including symptoms to watch for. It offers information on 24-hour mental health hot lines and treatment. It also offers information on resources for addiction and substance abuse.
“Mental illness, in all its many forms, is still just an illness, not a cause for shame,” notes Steve Gannon, whose son Dex ended his life by suicide at 21. “There are treatments…and there is hope.”
