Three candidates to replace Rep. Muffy Davis in the state legislature have been identified.

Legislative District 26 Democrat leaders have recommended that Gov. Brad Little pick a replacement from:

  • Ned Burns, Mayor of Bellevue
  • Karma Fitzgerald, vice chair of the Lincoln County Democrats, and
  • Don Lappin, past Democratic precinct captain for Sun Valley.

All three candidates submitted resumes, letters of intent and letters of recommendation. And all three were interviewed.

“We believe we will be well represented in the future by one of these qualified candidates,” said Janie Davidson, Legislative District 26 Democratic chair.

Davis is expected to submit her resignation effective Dec. 31, 2021, to assume the Blaine County Commission seat being vacated by Jacob Greenberg, who is retiring. She was chosen to fill the seat by Gov. Little in a process similar to that to replace her in the legislature.

“We appreciate the service that Rep. Davis gave us in the legislature, look forward to her work in her new position as a Blaine County Commissioner and are anxious to welcome our new State Representative,” said Davidson.
