The Sun Valley Film Festival is screening three movies this coming week at the Sun Valley Opera House.
- The first—Lionsgate’s “American Underdog,” will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27. It chronicles Kurt Warner’s rise from grocery stock boy to NFL MVP, Superbowl Champion and Hall of Fame quarterback.
Warner went unsigned by the NFL for four seasons after playing for Northern Iowa. When Trent Green suffered a season-ending injury with the St. Louis Rams, Warner led what was called “the greatest show on turf” offense to a Super Bowl title in his first season as a NFL starting quarterback.
He later returned to the Super Bowl with the Arizona Cardinals.
The screening is designed for Sun Valley Film Festival patrons and guests and will be preceded by a cocktail reception. To learn more about becoming a festival patron, contact jenny@sunvalleyfilmfestival.org. Or, buy a patron pass at https://sunvalleyfilmfestival.org/become-a-patron/
- National Geographic’s “Becoming Cousteau,” will be screened at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28. The film offers a look at the life of the explorer and filmmaker, his iconic films and inventions and his passion for the environment.
It is being offered free in partnership with Sun Valley Resort. Reserve a seat at https://sunvalleyfilmfestival.org/becoming-cousteau/
- National Geographic’s “The Rescue” will be screened at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28. It is the story of the daring rescue of 12 boys and their coach from a flooded cave in Thailand in 2018.
