The Argyros will host a Concert to Benefit the People of Ukraine Sunday.
The livestream concert will feature Ukrainian pianist Antonii Baryshevskyi and friends live from the Lviv National Philharmonic.
It will be livestreamed at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 27, and rebroadcast at 3 and 5 p.m.
As Leonard Bernstein says: “This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.”
The Argyros is issuing a matching grant challenge up to $50,000 for the concert. And 100 percent of ticket contributions from the three broadcasts will go to support immediate humanitarian efforts in Ukraine where many people have lost their homes and others are said to be without food and water.
Tickets are free, but The Argyros is requesting a minimum contribution of $100 per person, available at https://ci.ovationtix.com/35937/production/1114992
Each donation will be doubled by The Argyros’ matching grant and all funds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders-Ukraine, World Central kitchen-Ukraine and Ukrainian Classical Musicians Support Fund.
Those who are unable to attend the show but would like to contribute to the matching grant challenge may do so at https://ci.ovationtix.com/35937/store/donations/47095
An archived version of the program will be available for home viewing at a later date.
