STORY AND PHOTOS BY KAREN BOSSICK

Bet you never thought to take a wildflower hike in an alleyway!

That’s what members of the Wood River Chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society are doing on Saturday.

Club members are staging a wildflower walk in the alleyways of Hailey at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, April 23, as part of the valley’s Earth Day activities. Walkers should meet at the new Town Center West Building behind the Hailey Public Library at Croy and River streets.

Expect to hike an easy mile and allot about two hours.

“You’d be surprised at the variety of plants we will see,” said Lisa Horton. “We can talk about garden escapees, invasive plants, Idaho natives and more.”
