Wood River Women’s Foundation to Cut Ribbon on New Office

The Wood River Women’s Foundation will hold an open house for its new home from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 26.

The WRWF is moving into an in-kind office space on the second floor of Zions Bank’s at 311 N. Main St. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 3 p.m.

The WRWF will realize a significant annual savings, maximizing its ability to pursue philanthropic initiatives in Blaine County, said WRWF member Renee Spooner.

“We extend a heartfelt thank you to Zions Bank for its generosity in giving us a new home on the second floor of their Wood River Valley branch,” said WRWF Board President Terri Bullock. “As the Wood River Women’s Foundation continues to grow in membership and reach, it is critical for us to have working space to further our mission.”

Zions Bank has been an early and long-term supporter of WRWF because the foundation’s goals and objectives align with the bank’s own charitable giving focus on education, the arts and social issues.

“At Zions Bank, it’s important for us to be actively engaged in important issues and provide value to our communities,” said Zions Bank Wood River Valley branch manager Mary Sfingi. “We’re proud to support the Wood River Women’s Foundation in meeting the needs of Blaine County residents.”

the WRWF’s 325 members have donated more than $3 million to Blaine County nonprofits focused on the environment, health, recreation, education, the arts and social services since the organization’s founding in 2005. Women pool annual contributions of $1,000, allocating the money to projects benefitting the community. The women chart the progress of the projects.
