A flyover and Memorial Day Ceremony will honor the more than 440 veterans from Blaine County laid to rest at Hailey Cemetery.
The 21st annual ceremony will start about 10:45 a.m. with the flyover taking place at 11 a.m., weather permitting.
“The time of the flyover has kept changing, but I’d rather have people come early than too late,” said organizer Geegee Lowe.
This year’s theme is “Remember the Fallen, Honor their Service and Sacrifice and Rejoice in Your Freedom.”
Col. Chad Kornberg, commander of the 124th Fighter Wing with the Gowen Field Air National Guard, will welcome military veterans and community. He will be joined by the Mountain Home Air Force Base Honor Guard and the Idaho Amy National Guard. Members of the Boise Highlander Bagpipers and community members will provide music.
The Hailey Cemetery Maintenance board of directors will provide refreshments.
A small team of patriots decorated the cemetery with American flags, providing a carnation on every known veteran’s gravesite.
The cemetery is located at 511 E. Maple St. in Hailey.
