The Agyros in Ketchum is celebrating Father’s Day with a free matinee showing of “Back to the Future.” The coming-of-age classic starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd will be shown at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 19.
The story follows Marty McFly, a 17-year-old high school student played by Fox, who is accidentally sent 30 years into the past via a time-traveling DeLorean invented by an eccentric scientist played by Lloyd.
Trapped in the past, Marty inadvertently prevents his future parents’ meeting, which means he might never be born. Hence a madcap race to reconcile the pair sand somehow get back to the future.
The film, which came out in 1985, was the first in a trilogy. It won an Academy Award and its theme song “The Power of Love” by Huey Lewis and the News became a global success. It is now considered to be among the best films ever made.
