The Argyros staff is donating all bar proceeds from its MOMIX shows this weekend to a relief fund for those who lost their homes in the Limelight Condominiums fire over Labor Day Weekend. The fire, which started about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, destroyed the 50-year-old building on Warm Springs Road.
The Argyros will also put a donation box in the lobby for those who attend the show to deposit donations if they wish.
MOMIX will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10-11. The company of dancer-illusionists combines athletic dance, riveting music, outrageous costumes and props with magical lighting and imagery to transport audiences to a fantasy world.
Tickets start at $20 and are available at https://theargyros.org.
The Argyros effort is one of many to help get Limelight residents back on their feet after some lost nearly everything they owned in the fast-moving fire.
On Wednesday evening member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church handed out fists full of gift cards donated by church members, along with the dinners that volunteers make and hand out to the community every Wednesday. Most of the gift cards were designated for Atkinsons' Markets.
Undercover, J. McLaughlin and The Elephant’s Perch have donated clothes, while Atkinsons’ Market and the Sawtooth Club have donated gift cards for food.
