You can find high-quality alpine and Nordic skis, boots, poles, helmets, snowshoes and ice skates at thrift store prices when the Gold Mind holds its 2022 Ski Opening.
The Ketchum thrift store, which benefits The Community Library, will hold a blizzard of sales at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3.
Those who join the early bird line can expect warm greetings a, perhaps, a free pencil or library card from Community Library representatives, said Kyla Merwin.
The sale will include coats, fleece, hats, gloves, scarves, footwear and blankets, in addition to outdoor gear.
“Ski Opening is our premier opening of the year,” said Craig Barry, managing director of the Gold Mine Stores. “We spend months curating winter sport donations and offer these items for sale in our largest sales event of the year. From ski jackets and pants to snowshoes and skis, we've got something that you wish you had this winter season.”
The Gold Mine is located at 331 Walnut Avenue in Ketchum. Regular shopping hours are between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Donation drop-off-hours in the back of the store are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Founded in 1955 the Gold Mine uses 100 percent of its proceeds to fund the library.
