Tree Planting and Park Cleanup to Mark Arbor Day Celebration
Friday, May 17, 2024

A Community Park Cleanup and Tree Planting will be held Saturday, May 18, in Hailey.

The Arbor Day Celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Balmoral/Kiwanis Park in Hailey.

Trees are important ways of dealing with climate change as they take CO2 out of the air and store it in their branches, trunks and roots, said a representative of the Climate Action Coalition. Their shade can also cool areas as the climate warms.

The event is sponsored by Cox Communications in partnership with the Sun Valley Institute for Resilience and the City of Hailey.

Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, long pants and gloves and bring a full water bottle. Lunch and tools will be provided. Sign up at
