Lisa Holley calls herself a botanical artist, having carved out a niche early in her career with unique paintings that both delight and educate as she composes animals from what they eat in her “You Are What You Eat” series. Illustrating botanicals became a passion of hers after studying the works of 16th century artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
Holley, and her reading therapy dog Wynslow, will be on hand to show off her latest creations during the free Artist Studio Tour of the Wood River Valley from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23-24. Forty artists will open their studios on those days to give tourgoers a peek behind the scenes.
Meet Lisa in today’s Eye on Sun Valley video. And get free tour maps at the Ketchum Visitor’s Center, the Hailey Welcome Center, the Sun Valley Garden Center in Bellevue or by clicking on the Artist Studio Tour ad in Eye on Sun Valley.
