Challis Hot Springs Unchanged for Nearly 150 Years

The Gem State has more geothermal gems than any other state in the Lower 48. One of those is the Challis Hot Springs, where the historic home and pool with its 104-degree water are largely unchanged from when the property was homesteaded in 1880.

Sun Valley videographer John Plummer and Bellevue mining historian Tom Blanchard teamed up to put together a short video telling about the hot springs and accompanying Beardsley Mine. Enjoy in today’s Eye on Sun Valley.
