It was Jaysa Bozzuto’s ballet teacher who suggested she should strap a pair of ice skates on her feet. Now, a couple short years later, the 14-year-old Wood River High School freshman is standing tall on those eighth-inch blades, having won National Champion and Gold Medalist in Intermediate Combined Ice Solo Dance against stiff competition.
The Sun Valley Figure Skating Club skater also is a National Champion and Gold Medalist in Pre Gold Shadow Dance with her partner Carlie Quesada from the New York Figure Skating Club. And a Pewter Medalist in Intermediate Shadow Dance with Anabel Viesturs of the Sun Valley Figure Skating Club.
Eye on Sun Valley’s Karen Bossick takes you to the ice rink at Sun Valley Resort to watch this girl’s moves and hear from her coaches, who include two-time Olympic skater Judy Blumberg, Natalia Zaitseva and choreographer Stephanee Grosscup.
