Highway 75 south of Timmerman Hill has reopened to traffic in both lanes, following a car fire that burned at least 10 acres of sagebrush.
Hailey photographer Tim Brown was driving to Twin Falls shortly after 5 p.m. when he spotted sagebrush on fire. Past it, firefighters were attending to a car that was completely engulfed in flames.
“I couldn’t even tell what kind of car it was—it was completely in gulfed in flames,” Brown said.
Brown and those behind him sat for 20 minutes until law enforcement turned them around. As he drove north, Brown said more than 10 emergency vehicles passed him.
Although the highway has reopened, those driving between the junction of Highway 20 and Highway 75 and Milepost 94 near the Richfield Canal are told to expect delays and to look out for firefighters and law enforcement.
