River Sage Stables took on the air of a country fair this past week as the Sun Valley Culinary Institute threw its first public fundraiser. And more than 400 adults and children stampeded to the lovely ranch south of Bellevue to watch rodeoing, bid on auction items, ride a mechanical bull and, of course, sample some tasty barbecue prepared by some of the valley’s best chefs in what some attendees described as the quintessential Sun Valley event.
In the end the event raised a little over $100,000 for the Culinary Institute, which fields its first professional cooking class in September. And it put a lot of smiles on people’s faces, as well as a relaxed swagger in their step. Saddle up as Eye on Sun Valley’s Karen Bossick take you there in today’s video.
