The third weekend of September a team of Lincoln County volunteers pull on their cowboy boots and don their Stetson hats as they organize the annual Lost-N-Lava Cowboy Gathering. Cowboy poets, musicians and western music enthusiasts stream into Shoshone, serving up concerts, showing off leatherwork and mountain man trinkets and spouting tales of the west both old and new.
The event just wrapped its 13th year. And, as Karma Metzler Fitzgerald reports, visitors from across the region traveled to see storytellers and song writers celebrate western history and lifestyle.
