Want to know the answer to the proverbial question: How can I get a better night’s sleep?

Check out a free presentation on sleep at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theater at the Community Campus in Hailey. The program is sponsored by St. Luke’s Center for Community Health. Spanish interpretation will be provided.

Dr. Kyle Davis, a licensed clinical psychologist in Boise, will discuss how sleep patterns change as we age,  the relationship between sleep and mental health and when people should seek help.

He will offer a perspective on teens and sleep since a study last October of Blaine County School District students showed that the amount of sleep they were or weren’t getting was a big factor in their mental well-being. Eighty percent of students who got seven hours or more of sleep reported none to mild depression while 51 percent of those getting six hours or less of sleep per night reported moderate to severe depression.

Davis specializes in behavioral sleep medicine, lifestyle medicine, chronic pain management and the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders.
