Flourish Foundation will begin offering weekly community meditations beginning Tuesday, Jan. 6.
The lightly facilitated gatherings will be held form 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays at the Flourish Foundation center, 1030 Airport Way in Hailey.
The gatherings are being offered in response to numerous requests by adults for the mindfulness opportunities Flourish Foundation has offered schoolchildren over the years.
The gatherings will offer a quiet hour of nourishment and connection. Each evening will begin with a brief wisdom reading led by longtime mindfulness practitioners Vicki Overfelt and Kristin Fletcher. This will be followed by an opportunity to settle the body, steady the mind and cultivate the well-being that emerges in such a gathering.
Cushions, chairs and other supports will be available, or participants may bring their own. All are welcome; no prior experience is needed. The weekly gatherings are free, but donations will be welcomed.
“Something incredibly powerful happens when people gather together in a supportive setting, stepping back from busy day-to-day lives for a quiet hour,” said Ryan Redman, Flourish’s executive director. “Through guided meditation, mindful walking and shared silence, we’ll explore the benefits of tending gently to our hearts and minds and create a field of compassion, clarity, and peace in community.”
