Did you know that the Trailing of the Sheep Festival recently found itself making the rounds of Jeopardy?
That’s right. The Wood River Valley’s most unique festival was a clue on the game show, which aired March 12.
The answer was: “Catch 'em while you can...sheep parading down Main Street in Ketchum during the Trailing of the Sheep Festival in this state.”
QUESTION: “What is Idaho?”
The category was “U.S. Festivals.” And, yes, one of the contestants got it right.
You can see the sheep trail down Main Street during the 2025 festival, which is being held Oct. 8-12. And, yes, Ketchum Mayor Neil Bradshaw has promised that road construction will have finished in time so the wooly mutton won’t have to dodge the likes of giant Tonka trucks.
