Journalist and filmmaker Reed Lindsay grew up in Ketchum where he was inspired to tell stories by the artwork his mother Barbi Reed hung in the Anne Reed Gallery.

He has spent more than a decade in Cuba, telling stories of Cuban baseball and more through the Belly of the Beast media outlet that he founded.

On Thursday Lindsay will offer Sun Valley audiences a sneak preview of “Teresita’s Dream,” a soon-to-be released documentary about a Cuban scientist who has developed a potentially game-changing treatment for Alzheimer’s.

The film follows Cuban scientist Teresita Rodriguez and her struggle to find a medication to help her mother with Alzhimer’s, a personal journey that led to a discovery that could change how the world treats this devastating disease.

Lindsay, who has shown some Wood River Valley residents around his adopted country, will also share several other short videos and first-hand accounts of Cuba. They include stories about Cuban entrepreneurs defying U.S. stereotypes, young people from the United States studying medicine in Havana and the impact of U.S. policy on the Cuban people.

Lindsay will be on hand to talk about his work and field questions.
