Sigi & Sepp—Sun Valley Resort’s new toy store rooted in adventure and reflecting Sun Valley’s memory-making tradition--will hold its grand opening on Saturday, June 20.

The grand opening from noon to 4 p.m. will feature an afternoon of family-friendly activities, including a photo booth, live music, games, giveaways and face painting.

Sigi & Sepp’s is named after Sigi Engl and Sepp Froehlich, the Austrian ski instructors who introduced Sun Valley Ski School to the world’s stage.

Workers have been working into the evening this week to finish the new store in time for Saturday’s opening. And Sun Valley employees began moving toys into the store on Wednesday, while an army of gardeners scurried around the grounds of the resort bedecking it with hundreds of flowers.

The store sits across from Sun Valley Resort’s Ram Restaurant and Sun Valley Inn in the space that was once the site of an outdoor adventure store.  Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

The store features six themed spaces that reflect the full arc of life in the Wood River Valley: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Base Camp and the Dark Sky Zone.

Each of the four seasonal rooms draws from the character of Sun Valley across the year, from the wildflower-covered hillsides of spring and the long golden days of summer to the color and crisp air of fall and the deep snow winters the valley is known for.

The toys in each room are curated to match the season: products that connect to the outdoor rhythms, activities and landscapes that families return to year after year.

The store also features whimsical murals painted on the ceiling and walls, such as skunks frolicking on a path and Sun Valley’s Sunny the Bear mascot riding a bicycle near the Sun Valley Barn, that remind youngsters that this is a place that feels distinctly their own.

Base Camp brings the spirit of outdoor adventure inside, with toys, games, and activities built around exploration and the kind of curiosity that sends kids outside. At the center of the store, the Dark Sky Zone takes its cues from the remarkably clear night skies above the Wood River Valley that led to the area being designated America’s first Dark Sky Reserve.

Constellations mapped to this exact latitude and longitude are woven into the space, turning a stop at the store into a quiet lesson in stargazing and a reminder of what makes this place unlike anywhere else.

The shop features a thoughtfully curated mix of classic toys, plush animals, outdoor-inspired games, educational puzzles, books and collectibles sourced globally by the Sun Valley retail team, reflecting the character of the mountains and the nostalgia of family travel. The assortment was built to complement the natural environment and the activities families do together in the Wood River Valley, from fishing and hiking to skiing and simply being outside.

“It’s easy to forget that the things you carry home from a trip as a kid can stay with you for years,” said Stacey Ehleringer, Executive Director of Guest Engagement at Sun Valley Resort. “We wanted Sigi & Sepp’s to feel like part of a tradition where kids find something meaningful, bring it back trip after trip, and eventually connect those memories to Sun Valley itself.”
