Get a recipe for Brenda’s Herbed Coleslaw with goat cheese. Learn about the Farm to School Initiative that Future Roots is working on with the Blaine County School District. And get tips on buying in bulk so you can eat locally all year long in Future Roots’ new Locally Grown Guide.

The free guide, a smaller version of older guides, is available at retail stores, Farmers Markets and restaurants in the Wood River Valley.

The guide is the seventh annual, said Mike Gordon, communications manager for Future Roots: “We’re excited to continue bringing this indispensable resource for eating locally to the Wood River Valley community.”

The guide offers a one-stop resource spotlighting individuals and businesses in the local food system. It features more than 130 local food businesses, including 12 new listings.

“It’s a roadmap to eating well and keeping your food dollars where they matter most, right here in Idaho,” said Amy Mattias, Future Roots executive director. "The Guide reflects our complex, unique, and exciting food system. It celebrates regional producers and explores the partnerships creating a just, thriving future where every community member can be nourished by our local food system. If you're looking for a way to make a positive impact with every forkful, pick up a Locally Grown Guide today.”
