The Chinese spy balloon had nothing on the green UFO that descended on the streets of Stanley this past weekend.
The UFO took its place in the outhouse races that are the cornerstone of the annual Stanley Winterfest. It was powered by women in green coats and wacky sunglasses who said they were vying for turd place while trying not to fall on their butts.
The day included turkey bowling, a pizza eating contest, whitewater rafting down a snow-covered hill and a snowman contest fueled by steamy vat of paella and other goodies residents of the tiny own north of Sun Valley cooked up on the streets.
“It’s a special event and it’s fun to be in Stanley in the winter,” said Morgan Willming.
