Like to dig around in the dirt?

The Wood River Land Trust is seeking volunteers to help build a colorful community garden at Memorial Park in Bellevue.

The Land Trust will hold a Native Garden Planting Workshop at Memorial Park at Third and Cedar streets from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 18.

Planters will learn the value of native plants and how they support key pollinators, reduce water use and protect local rivers. They will also have the opportunity to learn about the Wood River Land Trust’s Trout Friendly Yard Certification program.

Tools, lunch and refreshments will be provided. Volunteers are asked to RSVP at https://www.woodriverlandtrust.org/events/native-garden-planting-workshop?blm_aid=35372 to ensure there’s enough food for everyone.

“We’re excited to demonstrate how beautiful a natural garden can be!” said Caroline Temple, community engagement coordinator for the Wood River Land Trust.
