Conservationist and historian Will Whelan will share stories of the people and pivotal moments that have shaped conservation across Idaho tonight at The Community Library in Ketchum.

Whelan, government relations director in Idaho, will discuss the stories in his new book “Connected by Nature: Sixty Years of The Nature Conservancy in Idaho” at 5:30 p.m. tonight--Tuesday, June 30--at the Community Library.

Whelan pored over hundreds of archival documents, sifted through decades of photographs and conducted dozens of interviews for his book. The stories, he says, remind us that what may have begun on a small scale to protect a single place or address a specific challenge can shape landscapes and communities for generations to come.

Free digital copies of “Connected by Nature” are available to download at https://preserve.nature.org/page/186626/data/1
